The mavic has big metal plates and there is plenty of clearance away from the electronics. There is no need for non conductive thermal compound. If you get thermal compound on the electronics, you have applied too much thermal compound.

Just on the heat sink. There is quite a lot of detail in this post about polishing and using expensive heat sink paste, but having this apart, that sounds to be unnecessary. The cover that is acting as the heat sink appears to be a plastic, maybe a metallised plastic and its thermal...
