    Moment filters — any experience?

I bought a Moment CPL filter from Amazon for my Mavic Air. Unfortunately, I can’t opine on the filter, because I haven’t been able to open the case!! How did you open the case? I suppose I could use a couple of pair of pliers, but I’d rather not scratch up the case.

Had my first major crash today :(, I have a few questions

Something else to consider...usually the best repair would be to replace the whole arm, BUT sometimes gluing the arm together (SuperGlue) may be a better choice, if you're not comfortable with a soldering iron. Whatever you choose to do, spend some time at YouTube - TONS of stuff about using...

    Firehouse ARC V Strobe Review

I think you'll be happy with the V. I currently have 3 of the ARC2s, and a white V(got it when they came out). I had issues with a couple of the ARC2s, and FH was great about getting a free replacement out to me. The V has not had any problems. In addition to the extra LED, it is in a case that...

Nice page for drone regs...quick and easy.

www.jrupprechtlaw.com is a "must visit" website for anybody who is interested in drones and the law. TONs of great info!

Google doesn't like the new rules

While I agree about government getting (taking) more and more power, I can't agree with the ability to track drones being a violation of the first amendment. With that thought process, should a manned aircraft not be tracked, if it happens to be carrying a reporter? What about tracking of...

    Sell or Keep MA1?

I've had my Mavic Air since they came out - March 2018, so it's been almost 3 yrs. I have the FMC and a fair number of accessories that are MA1 specific. I know its capabilities and limitations, and it still satisfies my needs, so I don't really have a reason to upgrade. However, if I were to...

    Restricted zone low altitude flying

I get your point, and agree. I got my PPL back in the 70s, so I appreciate good flight planning, including contingencies. In the case you cited, you could make it a part of pre-launch checklist to verify that RTH is set to stay within the max allowed altitude for the area in which you're going...

    Close Call On The Beach

Night VFR is allowed in the US, but that's NOT the case in all other parts of the world.

    This can’t be good

This article is pure speculation, as there is no proof that a drone was even involved. Experienced aviators, in the cockpit, often have a hard time determining how close they came to something, or what that something really was. Until there is an official report filed by the USAF pilots, this...

    No Fly Zones Jails nearby

The drone will not fly around the NFZ??? Is this true for all DJI quadcopters? What would it do at the boundary of the NFZ? Would it just hover until battery level forced a landing? Wouldn't it even try to go around?

    Airdata issues with MM

Wow! That's a warning I've never received. Does anybody know if DJI GO 4 has this warning available?

Part 107 mission within non LANC system Airport boundaries

I remember getting that FCC license back in the mid-70s, and don't remember it having an expiration date. I also remember that there was a "station license" for the comm radios that went with the airplane. I seem to recall that somewhere along the way the need for an operator license went away...

I finally did it - long distance Litchi mission

Does Sweden allow flight without maintaining visual line of sight??

    Restricted zone low altitude flying

I agree that there should be some altitude (like 10-15 ft AGL) to which you can fly legally, even if you're near an airport. If you're flying between buildings, where a manned airplane couldn't even fit, it doesn't seem legitimate to restrict such flying, and it breeds disrespect for the law...

Where to buy USB C Cable?

Make sure you get a data cable, and not just a charging cable. I get my cables from Amazon.com. When you search for a cable, have them sorted by customer review, and look at not just the average score, but also the number of reviews (the number in parenthesis). Look for strain relief at the...
