I'm surprised you haven't been encouraged to do an imu calibration and compass as well. I would start there myself. But make sure they are done well. Makes a huge difference in stability.

Yes I agree that mine at least is mostly wind related. When compensating for the strong winds it results in a tilted horizon but otherwise quite reliably level.

Well I'm definitely ok with a course/license being required. Regulate but don't eliminate. Hopefully things don't get so difficult it eliminates the hobby. Time will tell.
