    No ... the GPS receiver in the drone is responsible for these. Whether your controller has GPS or not makes no difference to flight safety. That number is the number of sats your drone is receiving signals from - not the controller.

    The long, slow download is because he has a bunch of the all-I video files that are up to 9GB. You can just select the .dng files to see the stills and leave the .mp4 video files.
