Tons of people have no idea what happened to this drone or their own drone.
It's easy to say the same thing happened to mine when you don't know what happened in either case.
I wouldn't have much faith in Youtube comments, but a few of the brief...

It's can be confusing trying to make sense of a crash incident from a screen recording and the recorded flight data would make it a lot easier to tell what happened.

Not quite. You also need to be holding the control stick down to trigger an auto-landing. But even then, that can be aborted and the auto landing immediately cancelled if you just push the control stick back up.
There is no logical mechanism...
The tensions are about a completely imaginary security issue.
It's very hard to get past that, particularly when no-one actually investigates into the (imaginary) issue.
