I think you are giving 'them' way too much credit. I doubt 'they' put any thought into this at all except how can they force more $$ into their accounts.

There is nothing (currently) stopping DJI from making the current, FCC approved, models for as long as it benefits them. The rest of the world will get the new models and we will be like Cuba and their cars. But, you'll likely be able to...
