Without the recorded flight data, DJI or anyone else can't tell what caused your issue. Did you supply the recorded flight data? What drone company would you try next? Trick question ... there's no other company providing drones that are even half as good.

But you also shouldn't go too slow. There's a "goldilocks" speed in between that will get the best fuel economy. Sport Mode will burn the battery faster and give less distance. Fly too slow and you use too much battery power just fighting gravity. But there's no need to wonder of ask what...

How often are you needing to change shutter speed? It shouldn't take seconds to do it. If time is really such an issue, you could always try using Shutter Priority and it wouldn't take any time.

What you are seeing is the only option. Hmm ... my Nikon has smaller increments. The shutter speeds offered go: 1/15 1/20 1/25 1/30 etc. I'd be surprised to see many cameras with 1 stop increments

Did you not see what the OP said about his intention of flying ~300-400' over a suburban part of town? Did you see what I wrote in post #4? Why would there be any involvement of an investigator? You are over-dramatising something that's nothing.

To get any meaningful suggestions people are going to see what you are seeing. You really need to post some examples. Upload one or two full-sized, original jpg image files to Google Drive or similar and post a link.
