Cable with 50 ohm is working ok. (tested for short periods of time)
The problem is tha stopping phone from charging will not make a big diference.
After measuring phone charge rate from remote .. this are the numbers:

Android USB connection requires about 30-50ma to run.
You can try adding 50 ohm resistor on positive (VCC) line of an USB cable.(RED cable) Limiting total current to 100mA at 5 volts
Will charge the phone but really slow. Normal charging from USB is 500-750mA.
