    Mavic 4 - Escape

yeah, good eye, man. I’ve thought about that too, but luckily that shelter is way out there... you’ve got to hike for a few hours just to reach it, and then another couple of hours to get to the top. Anyone from that kind of crowd would probably get lost or give up long before making it that...

    Mavic 4 - Escape

Man, you really hit me right in the soul. This is one of my favorite movies ever. I’ve watched it at least 5 to 10 times in my 53 years. Yeah, that music would be perfect as the background, but sadly, copyright. I picked the soundtrack I used to give a motivational feel because the goal of this...

    Mavic 4 - Escape

Thanks a lot! :) The cabin is "Drago Grubač" mountain shelter (44°02'36"N 16°23'13"E), built by volunteers from the "Dinaridi" Mountaineering Association with help from the Croatian Air Force. It’s a hikers’ refuge on Dinara. The shelter can accommodate about 20 hikers, has a wood stove, a...

    Mavic 4 - Escape

Haha, nah, it just looks a lot more dangerous than it really is. I’ve done a ton of hiking and never lost my balance. And yeah, totally agree with you about having a good "partner” for solo hikes... it does the job perfectly. This clip’s from before the firmware update to v01.00.0200 though...

Feel free to be brutally honest... I’m trying to learn and improve. Thanks!

Thanks so much! I’m still learning as I go, so it really means a lot that you and your wife enjoyed it. More drone hikes coming soon!

Mavic 4 - Golden Hour (Mist Filter 1/4, Freewell)

    Thank you sir!

    Mavic 4 - Canyon

yeah, I actually tried that dual ISO trick in d-Log m with auto ISO. It definitely helps shadows and high-contrast scenes look cleaner compared to locking ISO, so I can see why people like it. But to me it still feels more baked-in than shooting straight D-log. With full d-log I get a flatter...

    Mavic 4 - Canyon

yeah, I get it; 28mm does feel kind of tight in this scene, but honestly, I like it more than 24mm because it just feels more cinematic, more "intimate". 24mm gives off that action-cam kind of look. (But yeah, for this setting, 24mm would probably work better) Most of the time I’m flying in...

    Mavic 4 - Canyon

I filmed two videos during golden hour, and to be honest, I wasn’t really happy with the results. You can check them out if you’d like and see what you think. For this video, I used a mist filter even though it’s not really meant for daytime, I just wanted to try it out. The footage came out...

    Mavic 4 - Canyon

Just got back from this location (44°13'15"N 15°36'57"E). What a spot! I came out here to do a long-range test, but the wind kicked in again... 12 hours of travel down the drain… Honestly, it’s way harder to grab good shots than on mountains (I didn’t expect that...). Canyons feel tight...

MAVIC 4 PRO - TEST - Freewell Mist Filter 1/4 - Is It Worth It? (True HDR10, 6K)

Yeah, I’m with you on that, thanks for sharing your opinion! I’ve realized the mist filter doesn’t really add much value for me either. I edit in Adobe Premiere 2025 since it lets me export straight to HDR10, and YouTube picks it up right away and shows the HDR tag next to the resolution...

MAVIC 4 PRO - TEST - Freewell Mist Filter 1/4 - Is It Worth It? (True HDR10, 6K)

Thanks. I just checked on my wife's phone, and it's also dark on hers, while on my phone it looks correct… and I use the same preset in Adobe Media Encoder every time.
