I’m pretty sure the USB port on the Mavic 2 Pro is only for data transfer.

That's correct, it was before the days of USB PD being widespread so it doesn't support it which means it wouldn't have much power to charge a battery over that port. The charger is completely bespoke to the Mavic 2 unfortunately.

If your car has a USB outlet and you have the appropriate cable, you can connect it to the USB C port on the drone and charge the battery, but it will be painfully slow. Most any AC USB charger...
