Standard mode (44mph). Cine operates the same. Yes, different maximum speed. At higher altitudes speed is at its potential. For point of reference, the Air 3s operated the same. You can turn OA to off and 10’ has full speed. -

I’ve always upgraded to the latest firmware and s/w and never had any significant issues, that weren’t my own finger problems. In some cases you’ll be limiting the available features/options by not upgrading.
