May I suggest that if you are new to this wonderful hobby that you get lots of practice on dry land and in a large open area first. -
MBut doesn’t help with the repeatability of the drone at the waypoint due to the inaccuracy of GPS which was the problem the OP had.

MNot if you stop before you hit the water. How close to the water are you intending the drone to be? If you are using the wideangle camera, remember everything will appear further away than it really is.
