Those living in and around fire zones were also told to stop using drones to capture the scene.

The article cited says that it was a survey drone and the company had been contacted. So, presumably a Part 107 pilot, rather than recreational. The article also notes that he was flying BVLOs and was not aware of the helicopter. Making a flight without checking for heliports on the route...

Can you fly Mini 5 Pro with plus batteries out of the box here in the U.S.?

You definitely did not register via the FAA website. There are several commercial sites that will handle the registration for you at a ridiculous price and with a delay. I'd suggest canceling the order with the registration company and have your credit card company void the transaction, too...

Can you fly Mini 5 Pro with plus batteries out of the box here in the U.S.?

Here are a couple of very good videos on the Mini 5 Pro to study while you're waiting for delivery. Pilot Institute Mini 5 Pro Deep Dive https://pilotinstitute.com/course/dji-mini-5-pro-deep-dive/ DJI Mini 5 Pro Tips for Beginners (good information for advanced operators, too)

Can you fly Mini 5 Pro with plus batteries out of the box here in the U.S.?

You can register the drone with the FAA; the plus batteries are not a limitation. A recreational registration costs $5 for three years and covers every drone you fly recreationally.

Can you post a link to the video of page where you see the font you're interested in?

    Lost another drone

Eight drone losses in eight years is a record as far as I know, and quite a demonstration of something, but perhaps not proficiency.

Lost drone: possible crash due to lost signal?

Well, there's a happy ending and a sterling example of the value of the rigorous analysis of flight logs over speculation and conjecture. Nice job, @Meta4. A battery disconnect can be the result of battery swelling. It's a good idea to inspect the battery before and immediately after a flight...

    2 Pro SNOWBall - A Concept Test

It's very interesting to be able to compare the plot to the actual video. Plotting flights on maps is another thing I need to set aside time to understand better This helps. I'm curious about why you included the pause in the plot and camera adjustment before the video segments begin instead of...

    Lost another drone

I think you may hold some sort of record. Including free replacements, what's the total number of drones you've crashed or lost? How long have you been flying?

Photo Mode Aperture Issues Discovered- It's Not Good

@Wavicle, what revisions do you have installed for the Fly App and firmwares? Perhaps the issue was resolved by an update you haven't installed.

Photo Mode Aperture Issues Discovered- It's Not Good

For what it's worth, I checked those settings (1/15, f11, 6400) on my Mavic 4 Pro this morning. The camera performs as it should, closing the aperture instantly when the shutter release is pressed, and then reopening it. Same for other aperture settings. Of course, the photos were grossly...

Rotor can form on the downwind side of 2000' tall ridge or the downwind side of a 100' ridge. or building, or a 50' tall highway billboard. The mechanics of fluid (air) flow, scale very nicely. If it's happens on the bid things, it happens on the small things, too, and vice versa. That's why...

    Broken 'Drone Guard'

A repair should be straightforward. Consider applying a small piece of plastic as a "splint" on the outer surface to span the breaks. Rough up the material where the adhesive will go. JB Weld has worked well for me in a lot of similar situations. If that doesn't work out, I have an extra I could...

    Flight times

Rotor is the turbulent air downwind of a ridge or other obstruction. It's the downside of having ridge lift available upstream and above the obstruction. Gliders being towed to the ridge lift may have to pass through some very uncomfortable rotor to get there...
