Since I am flying my drone to inspect roofs, in most cases, by the time anyone would think to search for my RID signal and find me, I would like have landed already. In most cases, I am only flying for 5~10 minutes at a time for most homes.

I was also very pleasantly surprised when I saw that the Mavic Air 2 would get an RID firmware upgrade. As you said, finding a reasonably-priced RID module in stock somewhere as nearly impossible. I installed it yesterday and it works well. Saved a lot of us several hundred dollars.

I did the update yesterday on my Mavic Air 2 and it also went perfectly fine. I sent it through the motions and all drone performance was like normal. I updated my DroneZone profile with my RID info. I also confirmed that the unit is transmitting RID info per FAA regs.

I saw info yesterday saying the Mavic Air 2 will be RID compliant via a firmware update no later than 30 Sept. That would indicate that all needed hardware is already installed in the drone, of course. Here's the Remote ID Statement (07/01/2023)

Has anyone found an inexpensive RID add-on module for the Mavic 2 Air? I know we have a few months until the rule goes into effect but I'd rather not wait until the last minute to find and buy a module.
