Go with the Android tablet device if it boils down to cost, unless you can do other things with your iPad, I use an ACER 10 inch android wifi only device with my drone, I like the big screen format too.

Canadian Criminal Code clearly states "Ignorance of the law is no excuse...", so I got my drone registered and just yesterday did the basic exam(since COVID-19 confinement, I have been brushing up on drone PIC requirements)easy test, scored 80%. I believe this instills a better sense of safety...

Also to add... the ESCs used in the Platinum produces a better waveform for the motors.
