Flying over busy street - Canada

people in cars or buildilngs don't count.. the new laws open up a lot of areas to fly, you just have to avoid actual people you can hit with the thing.

NavCanada just modifies the PART IX for Controlled Airspace

actually, i've since learned that I was misunderstanding.. AIRMAP still shows most of ontario as class E air space.. the reality is, that it is, but the NRC Canada map shows restricted airspace that only comes to the surface.. most of the areas that airmap shows as class E, are actually 2200ft+...

What do the Canadian regs define as a “bystander”?

one of my friends contacted TC about this after the new rules came out.. with a family photo scenario.. bascially they told him that if everybody there knows about the drone, then the 30m distance thing is moot.. i mean. really, if they don't complain to TC, what are you violating exactly? not...

NavCanada just modifies the PART IX for Controlled Airspace

funny how the nav drone site selection tool does not seem to reflect all the restricted airspace.. this thing is such a mess. just like the old drone selection site, was on rules, 2 sets of rules back.. what a joke.

    Canada .... True North

its f'in retarded man. completely unrelated to 400 AGL within eyesight.. even with advanced, you'll still need permission. the whole thing just feels like a waste of time

    Canada .... True North

the whole process is friggin retarded for something that you're not supposed to fly over 400 feet with, and keep in visual range.. All this nonsense we have to do just to take a 15-20 minute flight for photos is ridiculous. Complete turn off. so not only you have to go through all this crap...

NavCanada just modifies the PART IX for Controlled Airspace

ridiculous. this will only encourage people that break the rules to keep breaking them. Who wants to buy a $2000 toy that you can't use unless you pre-plan a time and get approval for it..

NavCanada just modifies the PART IX for Controlled Airspace

so after all that testing and nonsense, you still have to get written permission and wait, just to go up and take some pictures within line of sight. is this not overkill?

    New Canadian rules

it's a stupid rule.. and somebody i know contacted them and asked, well what if we have a family gathering and theres 30 people there and we want to do a family photo. Transport canada told them it was fine and that the distance thing is more of a factor when people are 'unaware' of the drone...

    New Canadian rules

TC responded to a question by email from somebody in a facebook group that I'm in regarding people and distances. They basically said if everybody knows its there, its ok to fly it around them as long as you're being safe.. IE a family gathering for photos, or whatever.. So right there, is a...

    New Canadian rules

believe it or not, I said the same thing somewhere else and somebody said thats why you have to have site control and people helping you.. dude give me a break. we're going up for 20-25 minutes, supposed to be in line of sight and not very high. I shouldn't have to study like I'm going to be a...
