    Traveling to Italy - Regulations

@MikeN Did you get a definitive answer on this one? I’m also flying to Rome in August and would like to take my Mavic. Contacted Ryanair and they are more than ok with my taking the Mavic and 2 spare battery’s.

    Mavic swarmed by Bees.

So... Today my Mavic got swarmed by Bees. I brought it down as soon as I noticed so not the massacre the whole local Bee population. Anyone's Mavic been swarmed by other wildlife? Did it survive? Niall

    Official Mavic Pro Range Leaderboard!

Hello, This is a valid point. The reason you are seeing this is because I suffered multiple DJI GO 4 app crashes during the flight. Below Is a screenshot to show the individual flight logs that make up the total distance from home. If this isn’t enough I will post the flight video later on. Niall

    Official Mavic Pro Range Leaderboard!

Hello! Here’s my first attempt at a long range flight with a stock setup. Conditions were less than ideal mainly because of the wind. I was constantly getting the ‘wind velocity to high’ alarm so I think this reduced my max distance(that and my confidence in it making it back). A quick...

    Obstacle Avoidance False Alarms

Haha! Never mind eh! That’s why we have places like these[emoji106] Wonder what I’ll be flying at 55...34 years from now?

    Mavic and a solar eclipse

A little late to this one! My first price of advise is “don’t miss the event” it’s surprisingly fast. All the video in the world won’t beat seeing it first hand. Without a telephoto lens you aren’t going to see anything of use. Best thing would be to film the shadows as a few have mentioned...

Drone - How to save my baby

Waste if time. These are intended for high altitude flights usually by professionals. A parachute will not stop you from crashing. Even if you did have a parachute the chances are the damage is already done. I would suggest, as many others have; buy a cheap quad, learn to fly without all the...

SD card vs using phone to record

The video you are seeing on your phone is the cached video from the live feed(usually 720p). If you have an sd card in the mavic it will record full resolution video(set at your leisure) to the card along with any photos. Pop the card in a card reader in a computer and you’re away! Edited with...

    Tablet buying considerations, advice requested

Hello! I’ve flown with all sorts of tablets & phones so hopefully I can help! 1- iPad mini 4 is the best device of the mini range. You won’t notice much difference between the 3 and 4. The mini 2(I had one) was slightly laggy on few occasions. All maps can be loaded before you leave. Tether...

The last chance to get my drone back - My letter to the Moroccan king Mohammed VI.

I’m sure in some countries the gear you refer to as ‘confiscated’ is actually ‘voluntarily Abandoned Property’. See ‘small print’. It usually becomes government property and is donated, sold or disposed of. However, I’m sorry you lost your mavic. You should probably declare it next time...

    Obstacle Avoidance False Alarms

I believe the OA cameras will throw an alarm if they become over exposed, the mavic is essentially blind and does what any human would do. Stop. This explains the issues flying towards the sun; very annoying. As far as I’m aware it’s hardware limit. Unless DJI try and detect the overexposure...

    Return to home power?

If your mavic was caught in a cross wind, the progress directly forward(towards you) could have been pushed off to the side(in the direction of the wind). This could have given you an increasing distance from HP. RTH is slow as it’s supposed to be efficient. Sport mode is the way forward in...

    long tablet holder

I prefer to use my tablet mounted on a tripod. Limits your movement but it’s much nicer to use[emoji106]

New to forum. Hi from Birmingham UK.

You could always try mounting your iPad on a tripod. I do this with my 12.9” iPad Pro. Works a treat[emoji106]

    UK Insurance

I’m insured with Photogaurd. If you crash your drone good and proper to which you would need to claim, who is going to know how it crashed? Additionally how can they know between fly away and loss? They are both sort of the same thing[emoji106]
