What is the deal with DJI Customer Service?

I’ve had similar problems with DJI. My latest issue has to do with batteries. I still enjoy my Mavic Pro, but its batteries are aging and need replacement. Unfortunately, I can’t find any new original DJI batteries for sale, and can’t find them on DJI’s page. Apparently DJI doesn’t support...

Flying and recording in the winter; that are your thoughts on this short video

One question. What did you launch and recover from, with that deep snow swallowing your feet?

Mini A Beautiful, Snowy Day on Southern Vancouver Island

Very nice video! You came closer to those branches than I could’ve. It added nice perspective though.

    A Winter Question

With snow blanketing a good portion of the North and Northeast, my curiosity got the best of me. Snow, beside being bright in the sun, will remove most visual clues that I suspect a drone uses for positioning (-Much like water). If we fly in the winter and in snow-covered conditions, will a...

Power lines and the cosmic vortex?

As others have mentioned, RF interference should not present a problem. Cellphone towers though are a different story. Give those bad boys a wide latitude. So what else electrical can affect a drone?

What do you use as a landing pad?

I’ve mentioned this before, but it’s been awhile. I’ve gone the minimalist route. I wanted something clean to prevent debris from being sucked into the ventilation inlets, and I wanted something sturdy enough NOT to flex or bend, protecting the blades. I also didn’t want to spend $20 for a...

Close encounter with an ultralight aircraft - ADS-B did its job

The “bold” pilot was doing what his plane was designed for, which is low and slow flight. The extra (redundant) engine adds to the safety of that kind of mission, and allows the pilot/photographer to get the very same dynamic pictures that we enjoy. Despite all of that redundancy, there is...

Georgia man accused of shooting, damaging workers' $15K drone

Drones are out of season in Georgia. The focus now is on deer.

Found Mavic Air 2 in national park. What to do?

In an aircraft, you must maintain at least a2000’ minimum, and the park rangers WILL report you to the FAA. One of the flight instructors at our local airport, learned that lesson the hard way and was cited. He actually lost his flying privileges for a month for flying low over a lake, which...

    Train recorded with M2P

GREAT video! You’ve mastered the difficult art of flying backwards! I would tinker with your pan sensitivities though. The out-of-the-box settings are too twitchy.

Drone on roof... needs rescue near Marietta, GA

I live on the other side of Atlanta (Grayson) and could help you. My first thought was to attach a line to MY Mavic pro, but after more thought, a simpler solution may work (I also have a ladder that would reach, but transporting the beast would be difficult). I would get three or four 1x1’s...

    Heart Broken

The first step is an easy and cheap one. Send him a bill ( registered, certified mail) for a new drone. You must first demand payment. Then if he refuses, file in small claims court. In both cases, you won’t need to hire a lawyer.

At the risk of upsetting some people......

I’m sorry, but the video is absolutely stunning, and I don’t see the problem that you’re referring to. When you compare the price of the MP2 to, say, the price of a professional camera, the results that are generated are exceptional. But if you want to compare to a professional drone, where...

    Beer question

I thought I’d posted a reply. The beer was too heavy, so I substituted a dangling roll of toilet paper to taunt instead, and I’m glad that I did. I’ll try to attach a picture. Lessons learned: 1. Even with the diminished load, the Mavic Pro handled completely different. It flew...

    Beer question

I ran out of daylight today, so tomorrow I’ll try The beer test. If the flight becomes sketchy, I’ll substitute a roll of toilet paper. Fortunately, the flight will not be over anything that could be harmed if anything falls. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
