The dates to look out for are Aug-Sept 2018. DJI replaced three batteries that swelled from those dates for me. They only ha 40-50 charges on them. Was a bad batch.
Hell yeah they are!! I spent $600 for new ones waiting for replacements from DJI. Can't have the bird grounded now can we ??!! Good news is now I have seven, I think I'm good now.
Here are two battery examples. One is swelled (bottom), one is brand new. The battery gets worse when charging/flying due to heat. DJI replaced all three of my swelled batteries manufactured Aug 2018 free of charge. They were a year and a half old. So, if DJI knows about the issue warranty...

DJI sent me a case number today for the swelled batteries. It says under evaluation. 1-3 days for response. They did not ask to return the batteries yet. How do they evaluate without the damaged units ?? Do they know something from the serial numbers ???
Speaking of swelling batteries. I have 4 of them. A repair ticket is created with DJI and they're going back shortly for inspection. All from 2018. I had my M2P land with one battery clip up. I was lucky. Those batteries got retired quick. Have since bought 4 new ones. Hopefully DJI will replace...
