If you plan on flying from a boat, Return to Home is a very bad thing. Don’t get yourself into a situation where Return to Home is necessary.

If you’ve ever hand caught one before, you know landing protection was off. You can’t catch it otherwise. As for the life jacket, feel free to wear one. I chose not to.

The image stabilization on the action cam makes it seems like the boat isn't moving much, but it was rocking a fair bit. There was about a 12 second wave period, which was great for the skis. This video shows the sea conditions better (although the cinematography isn't great).

Finally got around to editing this video from September of a hand catch, on the ocean, from two perspectives - the Mavic Pro, and my Sony Action Cam fixed on the boat. No contraptions.

The warranty doesn’t cover crashes. Only defects. That’s why they sell refresh.

Do you have DJI care refresh?

I never would have assumed I could just say “my drone sank” and DJI would send a new drone.

I use an iPad Mini 2, and had had cpu overload issues prior to the last few DJI updates. Flew a LOT a few weeks ago (over ocean water) and didn’t have any CPI issues at all.
