Has it all been worth it?

It is the same exact question that could be asked and answered about DSLR cameras. They are but a simple tool that can be used for fun, hobby or profession. Drones are only what you make of them and for 99% of users, it is just a fun past-time. Like any hobby, spend what you can afford and if it...

    Compass Calibration

LOL, no you explained WHY there was a notification and the non-necessity of following it and what the calibration did or didn't do. That's all fine. Question was - why did the notification go away. So I am assuming that DJI realized it was unnecessary and changed the firmware to no longer have...

    Compass Calibration

I simply wanted an answer of what DJI changed LOL. Regardless if it was needed or not, there are no longer any pop-up notifications. I was trying to understand what changed - the firmware or the hardware. Seems like firmware.

    Compass Calibration

Something changed. Across dozens of drones, it wasn't unusual to get at least a compass or two calibration notices every single week. Now I don't get them ever. That's what I'm just trying to drive to the root of regardless if one took the advice or not.

    Compass Calibration

LOL, I'm not looking for guidance on when to calibrate. I'm curious if DJI changed anything in hardware or software. I used to get compass warnings a few times a week. Haven't seen one in well over a year

    Compass Calibration

Thanks for the reply, yes, I realize some people used to calibrate all the time. I was not one of them. I would typically only calibrate if I got a error on the controller saying calibration needed. My question is, I haven't seen that pop up in well over a year. Even when drones have been...

    Compass Calibration

I've been flying drones for over 10 years, starting way back with the Phantom 2 and now using the Air 2S and Mavic 3. Lately something occurred to me: I haven't had to calibrate the compass in over a year. Back when, it felt like I was doing the compass dance every other flight—spinning in a...

    Small drone rental options?

DJI consumer drones do not have LDM nor would trying to explain this to whomever is in charge possibly appease them. I think the best course of action if you can't find a suitable rentai, is to post on job sites like Droners and see if you can find someone with a suitable drone - then you can...

    Homepoint Randomly updated during flight

OK, so you don't really want to know what happened and would rather just guess and cross your fingers it doesn't happen again. Fair enough

    Am I Crazy

I go through a lot of batteries and am constantly replacing them. I have purchased from the Amazon Renewed Store six times. All the batteries came with less than 5 charge cycles each. And in three cases, there was only 1 or 2 charge cycles. So these batteries are practically new, warrantied...

    Am I Crazy

Not in the least. The Air2s is one of the best drones, bang for the buck, that DJI ever released. Subsequent drones in the Air 3 and Mavic 3 series have upgrades and features but they are marginal. The Air2s still has outstanding image quality, decent battery life and flies like a dream. I fly...

DJI Air 3S FCC Hack release date?

They don't ever give dates of expected completion. Just periodically check back.

    Another LAANC question

This confuses a lot of people. However, it's not complicated. DJI geozones are not the same as FAA airspace. It's two completely different things. When you apply for LAANC, this has absolutely nothing to do with DJI's maps nor would DJI or your controller or drone have any idea that your...

My first authorization request was approved

Looking at the DJI map, you will always know if you were in a zone where you will be able to self unlock, or whether that will not be possible. There should be no surprises.

My first authorization request was approved

Bottom line, you simply can't take off in the red areas. I don't know what you mean by the blue area "tracks accurately". FAA airspace is broken into grids. DJI doesn't use grids so their map will never coincide with FAA airspace.
