    Small drone rental options?

DJI consumer drones do not have LDM nor would trying to explain this to whomever is in charge possibly appease them. I think the best course of action if you can't find a suitable rentai, is to post on job sites like Droners and see if you can find someone with a suitable drone - then you can...

    Homepoint Randomly updated during flight

OK, so you don't really want to know what happened and would rather just guess and cross your fingers it doesn't happen again. Fair enough

    Am I Crazy

I go through a lot of batteries and am constantly replacing them. I have purchased from the Amazon Renewed Store six times. All the batteries came with less than 5 charge cycles each. And in three cases, there was only 1 or 2 charge cycles. So these batteries are practically new, warrantied...

    Am I Crazy

Not in the least. The Air2s is one of the best drones, bang for the buck, that DJI ever released. Subsequent drones in the Air 3 and Mavic 3 series have upgrades and features but they are marginal. The Air2s still has outstanding image quality, decent battery life and flies like a dream. I fly...

DJI Air 3S FCC Hack release date?

They don't ever give dates of expected completion. Just periodically check back.

    Another LAANC question

This confuses a lot of people. However, it's not complicated. DJI geozones are not the same as FAA airspace. It's two completely different things. When you apply for LAANC, this has absolutely nothing to do with DJI's maps nor would DJI or your controller or drone have any idea that your...

My first authorization request was approved

Looking at the DJI map, you will always know if you were in a zone where you will be able to self unlock, or whether that will not be possible. There should be no surprises.

My first authorization request was approved

Bottom line, you simply can't take off in the red areas. I don't know what you mean by the blue area "tracks accurately". FAA airspace is broken into grids. DJI doesn't use grids so their map will never coincide with FAA airspace.

My first authorization request was approved

I am not sure I understand your questions. But if you look at DJIs maps: the areas in red (restricted zones) are blocked and you can't fly there. The areas in grey, you will have a limit on your altitude. Blue can be self-unlocked. If you want to fly in a red zone or higher than the altitude...

My first authorization request was approved

that's a DIFFERENT issue. DJI Geo Zones do NOT match with FAA airspace grids and that WILL cause issued (unless you have Drone-Hacks). OP was asking about when they get an Authorization. Once you get the authorization, it doesn't automagically unlock drone: You need to take approval and submit...

My first authorization request was approved

I don't understand the issue. If you are in one of DJI's altitude zones or restricted zones, you need to do a custom unlock. You need to get the FAA approval and upload to DJI Fly Safe Site. The approvals are very quick and then once that is approved, you will see it in your unlocks on...

Have you (a Part 107 Pilot) ever been granted permission to fly in the Washington DC NFZ?

Yes, you CAN certainly get an authorization but for your use cases, drones may not be the best solution. As others have said, there is a lot of paperwork and approvals to get. I have been through this a half-dozen times (all approved) and it is a lengthy process that takes time that is often...

    Construction photography

IMHO, absolutely no need for training or any classes. I've done dozens of weekly construction update jobs on very large projects ranging from 1 - 3 years. There are LOTS of stakeholders in a big construction project and the construction site is incredibly dynamic with constantly changing...

    Airspace question

Ha! Nice, I was at that show too. Fell in love with Peggy-O that night. Kind of liked the Masterpiece too even though I never really liked that much. And the Help, Slip, Franklin's opener is always an omen for a great night. Those were the days! Hope to cross paths with one day!

    Airspace question

How were the Phish shows? Been a great summer so far huh? Those drones at Deer Creek are flown by the police and not the venue staff. I am sure they have proper approvals. The cops there have always been the worst....going back to my time seeing the Dead, always terrible. However, the drones...
