Lithium Ion batteries can catch on fire, especially if shorted. I think the theory is that it is better to have a fire in the cabin where the crew can get to it, than to have them catch fire in the hold.

What Rudolf says. The only time my Mavic has behaved like this was when it was in RTH and flying towards the sun. The sun is misinterpreted as an obstacle. My Mavic stopped going forward and tried to climb over by going higher (without success )

Hi, ever since the latest firmware update (inc the NFZ data) my Mavic seems to be stuck in Beginner mode - it won't go above 30m or away more than 50m. Very frustrating. No end of turning beginner mode on then off, rebooting everything, etc, has fixed it. Any ideas folks?

There is a simulator in the DJI app - drop the menu on the top right and select Academy. It uses the controller so you get a good feel for how it all works.
