Litchi, Shield K1 and Nougat OK?

For a number of reasons and through a progression I now run Litchi exclusively. Why is not the topic here. Back when I first started with the Shield I was running Go4. After having the bejezus scared out of me with a few inflight disconnects I downgraded it to Android 6.0. I now have other...

DGI Goggles vs Epson Moverio BT-300

I was comparing these right before the DJI goggles came out. I ended up going with the Glyphs. My main concern was the distraction by having the Mavic image superimposed. Maybe it's not an issue IDK. I'm happy with the Glyphs and only mention it so others know there is another option for...

Forced GO 4 update in a week?

Sadly, I saw this coming. EXACTLY why they never let anyone actually download it for their own archives. Tell me they are not up to shenanigans.

Forced GO 4 update in a week?

One thing to keep in mind is that in the US time bombs in the code are forbidden. Precedence has been set on this years ago. I found out from my companies legal department when I was going to put them in to stop non-payment problems on capital equipment. Of course there is always the...

DJI Goggles Finally here, but illegal!

The definition of recreational aircraft itself requires VLOS II. Requirements to Qualify as a Model Aircraft under the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012 (P.L. 112-95, section 336). A. Statutory Requirements On February 14, 2012, the President signed into law the FAA Modernization and...

Litchi - Autopilot. "And" or "or"?

It's technically illegal to use for all recreational users. Only Part 107 pilots can use a spotter. There are some FPV goggles that still permit VLOS which are legal for recreational users.

DJI Goggles Finally here, but illegal!

Just a couple of points for clarity.... Part 107 pilots are allowed to use spotters to maintain VLOS. The issue has to do with recreational use. Not all goggles prevent VLOS like the DJI goggles do.

DJI Goggles Finally here, but illegal!

People are convicted of ridiculous laws every day. Sometimes laws have little to do with common sense, but they still remain the law.

DJI Goggles Finally here, but illegal!

That is a huge point of debate. The FAA, or any government agency, do not create rules then grant an open exception. Per the FAA VLOS is required for recreational pilots. https://www.faa.gov/uas/media/Part_107_Summary.pdf The AMA themselves recognize that by challenging the FAA rule in court...

DJI Goggles Finally here, but illegal!

Glyphs are the same price as the DJI. Bottom line, my Mavic has LESS functionality now than when I purchased it.

DJI Goggles Finally here, but illegal!

It's my understanding that spotters can only be used legally with part 107 pilots. Spotters are not legal for recreational use pilots and they must maintain a visual line of site at all times. So if you pass the test and pay the fee and have a spotter then, and only then, are DJI goggles legal...

    DJI Goggles FINALLY HERE!!!!

Never be able to offer since DJI blocks them with firmware updates. Don't want competition? Steal back functionality you sold to your customers. Sorry, not a penny more with DJI.

    DJI Goggles versus Avegant Glyphs

I bought Glyphs, right before the DJI goggles were released. A big reason was because I could have LOS, not requiring a spotter. I could also use them for other things. I'm very unhappy that at the same time they released their goggles, DJI disabled the head tracking functionality of...
