Sky Ranch at Carefree isn't a controlled airspace. It should be Class G and you can fly anywhere in Class G as long as you follow the FAA UAS rules. You can also check out SkyVector.com.
Download Airmap. It will tell you where you can and can't fly. There is a great city park at 7th Ave and Peoria that has a place for RC aircraft to fly in. You can also fly at Granada Park near 20th street and Glendale.
It's not up to police to tell you if you can and can't fly in an area. As a pilot, you should know where you can and can't fly. There are many free sites that show were restricted airspace is. www.skyvector.com is a good resource and will show you how far out airspace extends from the airport...
I'm seeing this more and more, people flying in restricted airspace. This isn't meant to be the drone police but if people keep flying in restricted airspace, there's a chance that they could just ground all of us.

Mine works through the bottom usb cable but the tablet rund slow and the remote signal strength blinks all the time even though it's rock solid on the controller. It also freezes on video a lot. I hated to do it but I pulled the trigger an upgraded to the ipad mini 4.
