If you were to move in closer, as you mentioned you would lose part of the shot. However, you could take a sequence of photos, a manual pano, and stitch it together in a photo editing product. May be an option?

I flew in Switzerland last summer. You need the EASA registration on the drone at a min. The app you want is Skyguide, a guide to Swiss airspace. I drove in from Italy, so no customs concerns. Have fun.

So what will change the longer they hold it? Will the drone transform itself somehow to become legal? Semantic difference: you are still separated from your property and livelihood.
