Try pressing the C1 or C2 (whichever you have programmed to set the waypoints), twice at each waypoint. I have had to do that when setting waypoints as youe describe.

If only there were a commercially available battery that was 5g lighter! That shouldn’t be difficult. Maybe just a slightly reduced flight time.

I have mapped with the M2 Pro, and it works well. Be sure to keep your shutter speed up as it is an electronic shutter.

Yes, the M3E with a ground station is your best technical solution, but the learning curve is probably beyond your interest level and definitely beyond your budget.. You could alleviate that by reselling it after the project. Given your use case, I think a M2 Pro from your seller is one...
