try using the small thumb wheel on the front left of your controller this should adjust your gimball pitch.

could be beginner mode or tripod mode they will both limit your flight speed.

you need to roll the firmware back to .007 and then root you mp. plenty of vids on you tube.

You might want to hook up with another pilot get some hints and tips there's plenty of good advise on the forums. Fly it in beginners mode first so you get a feel for it. Nice large open area is good to start
