I went into my local Police Station today to ask about enforcement of the new registration scheme. No one knew anything about it and they even phoned the main Police HQ in Belfast to see what was going on. Apparently they have heard nothing from the CAA about it.
Off to a great start.
These are 4mm sorry not 6mm. I think 4mm would work just as well though.

Yeah, I have a set of those letters currently in my Amazon basket. I think they are perfect. Will see how my label lasts before I decide wether or not to buy them.
Dont you mean ‘on the ground’ rather than ‘from the ground’?
If my label is on the bottom then ‘from the ground’ you can see it, if my label is on the top then ‘from the ground‘ you cant see it. Not that you would see it anyway if I am 300ft in the air.
If yours is on the top and it crashes...
Mine is staying there no matter what happens. I even stuck a label on my flight case so if the Police or a member of the public come for a nosey I can show them my code and also the email showing I have registered.
Is there even going to be an online database with all our names on it thats...
It also says the label should be viewable without the need for special tools and on the main body of the drone....
Putting it in the battery compartment is on the main body and you dont need special tools to get to it, its also easy to see once its on the ground once the battery is removed.
I have a label printer and stuck my registration number in the battery compartment. I am sure the label would stick fine to the outside body but I am not taking the chance of it coming off mid flight and potentially causing a problem.
Depends on the terrain. If its pretty flat then I use my hard case to take off and then land it into my hand.
If I am somewhere that my case wont sit steady then I take off from the palm of my hand and then land back into my hand.
