You might consider investing in some floats. Then you can experiment with some safety.

Thanks sar104, I was just supposed to shoot some b roll down at the beach for students making a skate board commercial for a class project. These rules seem to be a guide for the school administration's activity on campus.

I'm wondering if a class project for a college student would qualify as commercial?

You could check for upgrades on your device (phone, ipad) but this is a puzzler. Iv'e never even heard of this warning. Maybe collision avoidance is malfunctioning. You could try turning it off if you haven't already.

I upgraded the firmware on my mavic pro and the ap crashed every time I took off. Checked for upgrades on my I pad. That fixed the problem.

Upgraded to .1000, took it out for a test flight and nothing changed that I've noticed. I can still set max altitude at 500m and I still can't open a 4k photo on my new imac.

Sorry, not sure how to update to .1000. I checked for updates but only found something for the spark.
