    Serious danger for drones

You said the pigeons "touched" your drone. It looks like they didn't lay a feather on it? Beautiful countryside you live in, there. Overall, that's a stunning bit of footage, made even more memorable by the bird encounter. Really nice.

Official DJI Response to the GPS Issue

That's a lump of coal from Santa, right there. He needs to stick with reindeer and sleighs.

Flying drones over private property is illegal in California?

    (2) Fines collected pursuant to this subdivision shall be allocated, as follows: (A) One-half shall be allocated to the prosecuting agency. (B) One-half shall be deposited in the Arts and Entertainment Fund, which is hereby created in the State Treasury. WTF?

Flying drones over private property is illegal in California?

Last summer, I took some hyperlapse footage of traffic streaking around in my general vicinity after dark *with the Firehouse arc-v strobing atop my drone. I was flying just under 400'. As you know, the drone can move quite slowly in that mode, and my shoot took about 15 minutes to complete...

Why did my Air 2 S decide not to come home to Papa?

If you're flying in the U.S. at least, that's blatantly illegal for both settings. 1,640' is what 500m is, and to my knowledge, about 1,240' OVER the permitted limit. No wonder you're having issues?

Why did my Air 2 S decide not to come home to Papa?

What happened seems fairly obvious to me, but I could be wrong. You have your readings set to meters, not feet, and thought you were setting maximum height of 400 feet but it was actually 400 meters which are 1,310 feet.

Mavic 3 What is still coming may change your Mind !

As for me, I have no incentive to go from my Air 2S to the Mavic 3 - at all. The image quality is more than adequate for my purposes as a recreational flyer and I just don't see much beyond diminishing returns with the 3. But that's just me.

    DJI Fly 1.4.12

From what I can gather it is adding livestreaming capability and video capture cache in the event of transmission loss to assist with "find my drone". Also support for iOS 15 and Android 12. I'm just hoping it adds stability back to the Android platform. I'm tired of having to reboot my...

    Stealth Flying Neighborhood

So, clearly, since you cannot maintain VLOS at night without the drone's LED navigational lights, this would put anyone in the USA doing so in clear violation of FAA requirements, even if you still had the aftermarket FAA compliant strobe flashing atop the drone, yes?

Curious as to what you did with the recovered drone and what you learned from it.

Sheriff at my door this morning.

Everyone has their own opinion, and I encourage them to handle the situation in whatever manner they see fit if and when they find themselves in a similar situation. As for me, I've heard nothing more, continue to fly my drone and consider the matter closed. So, others can disagree with the...

Sheriff at my door this morning.

Thank you for the good advice. I must reiterate, however, that the officer who interviewed me over the phone was very courteous and professional and I never got the sense that he was trying to make trouble for me or overstep his authority. I think the his main objective was to find out why I...

Sheriff at my door this morning.

Yes, I am aware of the TRUST exam, which is why I forwarded the officer my TRUST cert. along with my drone FAA registration cert the day we spoke. I am flying in uncontrolled air space. I've decided to not to call the officer back, because if I violated any state or local ordinances, I believe...

You are incorrect. I had line of site the entire time. I live on a hill with unobstructed view of that entire flight path. You have no way of extrapolating that opinion from this footage without knowing where I was standing. Cheers.
