I'm going to make one minor modification where the two middle pieces come through the part that clips in and will have double holes in it... one to lock it down to the base piece and the other for the lanyard. hope it works as well in ABS.

Once i get my Mavic, I'll order one of these and I can custom cut polyethylene inserts in my laser cutter. Would people be interested in buying custom made inserts if I took everyones input into account and designed the ultimate insert for pelican cases?
