DJI has removed firmware downgrade feature

Soon enough they will pi$$ enough people off that sales will wane off. What the market needs is a serious competitor and I am sure there are companies circling the wagons. DJI has made a total mess of the Mavic with updates every time you turn the thing on to the NFZ mess that they cannot even...

    GEO-FENCING NEEDS TO CHANGE

Going forward I am going to keep the wifi off on my tablet and see how that works out. It is not so much that they are enforcing rules with the FW, it is the fact that they are such a &hitty company to have the ability to effectively MANAGE the policy.... Again, someone sitting at a table in...

    GEO-FENCING NEEDS TO CHANGE

Every time I take my Mavic out to fly it I love it less (not the machine.... the absurd dysfunctional DJI interference) and get more frustrated. Took it out yesterday and thinking ahead before I did, I did all the software updates and out I went. Turned it on today and it went through the...

    GEO-FENCING NEEDS TO CHANGE

Danman, I don't agree with your philosophy. I fly full size yet know a few pilots that are idiots so I would not let that be the basis for authorizing. To support the thread, DJI is out of control with this. They take weeks of wasted time to get the unlocks in place and have taken most of the...

    Car charging made complicated...

Yep, they designed it to only operate at the charging or alternator output voltage of 13.8 volts. Won't charge on 12 volts which is the batteries idle voltage. Stupid design. Let the user figure out if they are going to run down their car battery versus designing a nanny into it.

    Crossing the border into Canada

Carrying for the purpose of flying it in the destination country.

    Crossing the border into Canada

Zero issues. I take my MP back and forth from Canada to the US and back by vehicle and aircraft all the time. They could not care less. Just follow IATA rules for battery stowage on aircraft and pay attention to the rules Norm mentions.

    Canadian regulations clarified...or are they??

Dear Nut, it is great that she actually wrote which seems like an informed and educated response. As the end of June is nearing, it will be interesting to see what ratifications come out in the next set of rules. For me, the real ZINGER is the restriction of 5 nm from ANY location deemed an...

Regrets about your Mavic Pro purchase?.. Poll

Zero regrets buying the Mavvie. Big regrets that I live in Canada where it is a pain in the **** to find a place to fly it now.....

    Does your Android tablet work?

Looks like your model has the Intel ATOM processor. I am not an expert on Android devices however my own conclusions from reading the posts on Acer Iconia users here is that the models with the Mediatek processor seem to work great and the models with the Intel processor don't seem to work at...

Now THIS is a real multi charger!

That little blue charger is incredibly inexpensive and charges EVERYTHING at the same time and up to snuff in about an hour. Nothing comes close.

Now THIS is a real multi charger!

Pretty easy to add an inline on/off switch. I used a file, filed a square hole and installed a rocker switch on the top of the case. As for the sparking, it is the electrolytic caps charging up super fast when you plug into the mains. A bit unsettling but not dangerous in any way.

What is the best small Android tablet to use with the Mavic Pro?

TONS and TONS of discussions about this on the board here. I am using an Acer Iconia tablet with Mediatek processor. A few others are using and have reported same good results. Some of the Acer tablets don't work. Seems like the ones with Mediatek processors do. Search for Iconia on the...

    Does your Android tablet work?

Hi Mig, on bright days you have to use a hood. I have been playing with a couple of cheap and easy options. I don't find my iPhone much better either. I think it is a generic problem to all devices with some being somewhat better than others but I have not seen a posting (chime in anyone if...
