This is an interesting thread. I only fly occasionally (M2P & Spark), and have been aware of this change for quite some time. I just can't believe how quickly the date got here. DroneTag and the others I've found are all taking pre-orders, with DroneTag estimating October delivery. Has anyone...
“, or operate an unmanned aircraft on private property, or within a vertical distance of 400 feet from the ground within a private property line, without permission from the property owner.”
I realize that this proposal isn’t legal.
Visited Scotland in September; saw the cortège pass through Dundee. Just loved seeing parts of your country. Welcome to America and New England! TRUST certificate from FAA is something you can get in 10 minutes online. Part 107 not real hard, but if you need that study is needed. This is the...
I’ll second the Tony Northrop suggestion. He presents the material in an organized and entertaining way so watching is not tedious. Several things there are obsolete, however. FAA Study Guide is important, as well. FYI, the part of the exam that I stumbled on was about runways. I had covered the...
I think the OP was just wanting to know if he is within the bounds of what is acceptable given these particulars. This isn’t a black and white situation. I’m for keeping the Mavic3, as he’s done enough for the seller.
I studied for a month or so, a few hours a week, and got a 90. The online FAA Remote Pilot Study Guide was helpful, of course. Tony Northrup's free video guide was a pleasure to watch and extremely helpful (parts of it may be obsolete). I bought a paper Sectional Chart for my region as I found...
I found this Tony Northrup video very helpful as well as interesting. Give it a look even if you don't take the exam. Also, I used the study guide on the FAA website and a few other YouTube videos. The test was fairly easy after a month of study.
Asking for the policy to be reviewed is the way to go. Even if there is no change, you're inquiry will be noted. Here in Maine they went with the blanket prohibition in state parks so they won't need to work out which areas are appropriate for drones (for now, at least). Not arguing with the...
Have you been able to look into the camera to check for condensation? It looks to me that there is haze over most of the lens (or sensor?). If there was a temperature change when you flew, it could be condensation or a dirty lens. The lower corners look sharp and clearer than the rest of the frame.
I now agree with this, and thank you for your earlier comments about hearing choppers when things go 'sideways'. My comment was short-sighted. When the FAA changed things to say just fly in G airspace, I took it to mean they were putting more trust in drone operators (and requiring knowledge...
