I like flying over water and this post makes me shudder - total nightmare. Although really pleased the refresh thing came through!
My question is ....
Is anyone using floats that they think would survive / stay attached after a crash like this?
I've had a three flights where after a few mins I got a "Gimbal Shaking Error" - I've brought it back, restarted it and it's been fine.
I've also had a few times where on startup the gimble hasn't moved properly and it has told me "Gimbal over loaded - remove gimbal clamp" even though the...
OK - looking back I think I've learnt a few things....
Lesson 1) Be aware of the sun - I think I understand the failure - it was the front sensors not coping with looking directly at the very low (and bright) winter sun. When it dropped low enough to be in the shadow of the trees it started...
I take my MP out on the back of my bike and with the two spare batteries I do notice it on the steep bits - also I would never take it out walking for the day due to the weight so a smaller lighter drone with (as far as I can tell) the same video capabilities sounds very attractive.
BBC said the gusts were 21 mph - it wasn't that bad. I have flown at the top of a hill once where it was much windier and the MP although it danced about a bit was able to 'hold station' and make slow progress against the wind.
I will try and remember the sport mode thing if it ever happens again.
I knew it was a little windy - I've flown in windy conditions before and it flew fine afterwards - the wind hadn't changed. Not had an issue with sun light before but it would and did rotate so can't imagine that sunlight would have been the cause. For a significant period of time (I think...

No I didn't try RTH and I didn't try sport mode - I should have, I have read about both of them on here. Looking at the replay it had started to make forward progress but by that stage I was panicking, trying to get it down (I was concerned it...
I have been flying for over a year 130+ flights (thankfully with no real problems).
It was a bit windy yesterday but I hadn't flown since before Christmas so eager to get out again.
The grass was a bit wet so I thought I would take off from a bench but it had a metal frame and I got a compass...
Well I'm back - didn't fly at any of the cemeteries or the memorials - there were other people and it didn't seem right. Did fly over a Fort near Verdun - probably shouldn't have (there is a live firing range nearby) but it was early and there was no one else there and I kept it fairly low to...
Thank you for the link.
I agree completely about respect both for the dead and also for other visitors. - The key reason for the trip is to find (and thereby honor) a particular relative's grave - If there is no opportunity to film then so be it.
Hi,
I'm from the UK and I'm planning a trip to France to see some war memorials and battle fields and I could do with some local advice.
1) Airspace - I use the UK National Air Traffic Service (NATS) app on my phone to check UK airspace - is there a French equivalent that anyone could...
