I got a couple of pairs of tweezers and managed to squeeze it to its correct position. Haven't had the issue since so looked to be the cause. Good luck

UPDATE
So after fixing this slight build issue and taking my drone out for a fly today in near identical conditions as yesterday I can confirm i experience no gimbal overload or and wobble at all. I will continue to monitor but for now this resolved my PROBLEMS.
