Is there any info on flying in Vallejo/Benecia, specifically Lake Herman, the Ghost Fleet, or Mare Island(along Sears Point Rd)? i know there’s been some chatter about the carquinez bridge area and the M.I. Shipyard.

One cool/interesting tool I’ve found is on the DJI GO4 app, the GeoZone Map shows the landing and take off vectors for the airports. It’s a good piece of info for situational awareness if you fly near airports with LAANC authorization.

I’ve considered an AMA membership but I feel like a lot RC clubs tend to turn up their noses at drone operators. There is an AMA club in Half Moon Bay with a niece field that I’ve been eyeing but their dues are $250 on top of the AMA cost.

I think San Jose is a tough spot, with all of the helicopter LZs in that area. Based on my searches all Santa Clara County parks are NoDrone unless you have a permit. But the permit requires active AMA membership, liability insurance, and some other hoops to jump. You might have to venture out...

In Redhook I think you could be good at Vessup Beach or somewhere along Cabrita Point. I wouldn’t do it during busy weekends. Be careful flying by Water Island and the Waterfront I think it’s a NFZ because of the Seaplane. Bolongo Bay and of course Meagans Bay (on the far ends away from beach...
