I’ve always upgraded to the latest firmware and s/w and never had any significant issues, that weren’t my own finger problems. In some cases you’ll be limiting the available features/options by not upgrading. -
That's not going to work with a Mavic 3 or 4 because their batteries slide in from the back of the drone and have a good positive locking mechanism.
