Definately a dumb ***. Would be nice to see an organization/entity devoted to researching identities and forwarding to authorities in extreme cases. Iv'e watched vid of night flying thru the city and it was awesome. Worst case scenario drone falling from 300 feet most likely will not hit anyone...
Inevitable to an extent. Probably not overnight. Cameras are stupid cheap and deter theft yet slow to saturate our field of view, but yes it too is coming. Drones are especially worrisome because of their capabilities to do bad not just see all. They can deliver smallish amounts of evil and that...
I'm betting DJI has ongoing conversations with Gov. entities about very such things. Drones are not new and this scenario is certainly not either. I suspect limited weight carrying capacity has kept this aspect as a non issue but things are changing sooo quickly.
I think thats a somewhat silly question. Like saying commercial pilots shouldn't be armed. They already are with stick in their hand. If they wanted you to die, you would be DEAD 100% of the time. A drone is a weapon in and of itself. An automobile is a weapon as is the case in the news more and...
Probably just letting you know they have an eye on you. Port Authority are usually linked in some way to Homeland Security which in my case (north of Seattle) have nice little boats with 50 cal. mounted. Very large budget group with fingers everywhere. Oops! realized where you from. No worries...
I'm guessing he isn't worried about someone breaking the law so much as losing his drone to a drone thief? A very real and most likely soon to be common scenario if manufacturers dont change product vulnerabilities. Definitely not ridiculous.
Efficiency has little to do with this subject at this time. Early designs of the Modern Helo did not fare so well and we humans have hardly peaked in fields such as battery design, etc. Patience.
