Just a follow up, calibrating everything and not launching off my car roof seems to have solved any issues. Not sure if it's related or not but I haven't had the weird leftward motion anymore.
I just put on DJI fly 1.5.4 and got the message when I tried using spotlight. It's always worked in D-LOG, that's all I shoot. Wondering why and if they'll fix this.
Yes, the last film taken during the day was perfect. I'm actually wondering if my problems could be related to the Firehouse Arc V strobe I have mounted atop the battery. I'm going to try flying tomorrow during the day with the strobe mounted and turned on to see if it does that leftward...
I thought it may have something related to the compass, I've actually been getting a compass error but that's usually because I launch off the top of my metal car. I will try recalibrating it and also launching off some bare ground. While I'm not happy to see you having this problem also I was...
I'm having a similar problem but only at night it seems. Here's an example, the hyperlapse was set to pan from the left to the right and angle downward but as you can see in the video for the first 1/4 or so it goes the wrong direction and even wobbles around before starting to move correctly...
I did contact DJI and the response was to make sure I'm in a clear area for good gps signal. I tried that along with waiting plenty of time to acquire a signal and it didn't improve the behavior. It's not a huge deal but it would be nice if it moved the map along with the drone a little better...
No, it seems to control if the home point or drone is shown in the display. Tapping the smaller map in the middle makes it full screen and then minimizes the camera view.
Here was the official DJI response if anyone is interested...
Thank you for contacting DJI Technical support.
We appreciate you bringing this up to us. It is recommended to refresh the GPS signal in an open place to have a try. And if the drone flies outside of the map view, you can click on...
Very true. It seems about 15 mph though is where I can still outrun the map update, in the video I made I went faster because I was flying around my home and didn't want to get too far away so at 30 mph is happens faster. I know there's a lag in the video, I've put my drone on the table and...
I put in a request to DJI support, I'll see what they say. What you're saying seems very plausible, I do wonder if it's contingent though on the GPS in the aircraft or perhaps my tablet... I often fly under some shade so I can see the display which potentially blocks some gps signal, maybe I'll...
Actually my tablet is not on the list... I don't see really any android tablets officially approved and as you said DJI may be totally unaware so I'll send them a message.
It's not a huge problem but even with line of sight it can be extremely useful in populated areas to determine what's...
I guess anything is possible but I've installed new versions of fly many times with this same behavior. Otherwise the app runs flawlessly and has never crashed. Perhaps I'll try it with my old Galaxy S7e phone and see if it does the same thing. From the comments it seems this happens to some...
It does this with my setup too, I'm flying the Air2s with the standard controller and a Samsung Tab S7 which is a higher end tablet. Here's a short video depicting what happens. Someone in another thread suggested putting the "+" on but that did not seem to help.
