I took off with the gimble lock on my Mavic Air. I removed it while hovering above my head. It's amazing how stable the aircraft feels when you grab it.

Yeah, I learned the hard way too. Don't even fly over the neighbors' homes unless you're out of hearing range. They may think you're casing their home or children. Definitely don't hover above your neighbors.

Are you wearing a belt with a metal buckle? I've removed my belt once or twice and found that the magnetic interference went away. Also turn the aircraft on where you intend to take off. When I move it to a new location from where I turned it on I get the calibration required notice.

I just have to tell you that I crashed my relatively new Mavic Air three times hard on to the rocks twice and once on to the pavement from about 15 feet. I lucked out because although a couple of parts snapped off, they snapped back on. Plus the propellers showed minimal damage. And that...
