This video's long overdue though I've finally put it out there, a compilation from my first hundred or so clips taken with the Air 3S! Flying it has felt like rediscovering the drone hobby all over again, so much has changed since I purchased the Mini 2 way back in 2020. I hope you guys enjoy it...

Just from the lights you can tell the UAV is massive, definitely nothing anybody's walking out of Best Buy with. Hopefully, government-flown or not this doesn't create more legislation against DJI, though I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it did.

That's an interesting take for sure. I considered the regular Air 3 for a while, but could never get over the image quality. It's good, don't get me wrong, but the smaller sensor makes it just a bit too digital and "sharp" for me. I felt like I was watching videos taken from a flying iPhone. Air...

You might be onto something. Just rent out larger and larger quads every week until you've got one of those 8-rotor hell drones that blow the leaves off tree branches as they fly by ;). Joking aside though, sounds like toxic neighbors and not worth the trouble!

Was really excited for the Air 3s, put aside money for months however this really seems like the beginning of the end. I'm sure it'll get here eventually and if we're lucky this could be a one-off scenario, but I wouldn't be surprised if this paves the way for a scalper's market thriving off...

You seem a little jaded about it. I think I'll remain positive and look forward to this release. If it's a flop, we'll still have the good ol' Air 3 :)

Then what features in your opinion would the air 3s have?

A better camera makes sense however I still wonder what features LiDAR will give for the air 3s other than obstacle avoidance. Photogrammetry is more for construction, agriculture, etc rather than content creation so maybe DJI is seeking to bridge both markets.

I was about to post a similar question today however I'm glad you did. I'm thinking the leak might be of a cheaper 'fly more' bundle which will stay competitively priced with the original Air 3. Then we'll still have the premium bundle that includes the screen controller. DJI stopped app support...

My one concern would be that older drones are known to go haywire and initiate landings when flying too low over oceans, lakes, etc. Even still, I believe he showed good control of his drone and got some great footage.

I noticed that too, never happened to me until then. Either it was a rare occurrence or it's just my drone getting old!

The first couple of shots had me thinking of Miami, until I saw the rolling hills. Great pics!
