Been involved in RC for 50+ yrs.
Saw the hobby improve in technology over the years. Am pleased to see where it has come.
I started flying Control Line, then moved to digital proportional and never looked back. Yup, built many RC balsa planes & sheet foamies. I got into helicopters but never really advanced further than forward flight. That was when gyro's didn't even have 'heading hold'! Now I'm into quads and built several FPV models. I recently bought a Mini 2 and that's an amazing little machine.
I retired in Jan 2018 and lost my right leg 3 months later. That changed my whole lifestyle and future plans like traveling, outdoor activities, etc. Now my left leg is compromised. Walking is difficult, I have no family, friends, had to sell my car, and am completely alone, living in a 3 1/2 apt. I'm so pleased to still have interest in my hobby which is flying my Mini 2. I try to get out whenever I can. I'm also in video and photography (editing both) 3D printing and just trying to keep up with what's happening with technology.
