Sorry but I think your logic is a little flawed.

When I was working for Multivista they had an Inspire 2 crash and thought it was a total. Sent it in and they repaired it for $1200.00, a lot cheaper than a new Inspire 2.

If a recreational pilot uses some common sense, I see no need for them to have a commercial license. The key here is common sense, and that is something that is lacking in some people.

I really hate to say this but is there a chance it was pilot error by not watching his altitude. I disagree, cell divination is not common and shouldn't be. I have Phantoms, Inspire 2, and Mavic 2 and have only seen it one time and I disposed of the battery.
