DJI Air 3 suddenly started to drift with the wind and did not obey the controls

There was a brief disconnection of RC between 9 min 3 sec and 9 min 8 sec. Pitch of the drone changed shortly before disconnect (from ~- 30 deg to +38 deg). I wonder if two are related....

DJI Air 3 suddenly started to drift with the wind and did not obey the controls

I have not flied with a Air 3 before, but may be after taking pano, the drone will stop responding a bit to process the photos. May be you can try to do this again in a clam day where you can see the movement of the drone and ascertain if this was normal or not.

    Go Home (RC Disconnected)

hi all, first of all, thank you for your input and interest in the post. I further looked into the incident and double checked the log. It was revealed that the M300 had been connected to 2 controller before. The pilot was using the main controller (controller A) to take off the drone and...

DJI Air 3 suddenly started to drift with the wind and did not obey the controls

hi, it seems that the day was a bit windy (wind from south). When flying"out" (from around 7 min 30 sec to 9 min) you was using sport mode and the drone was at a speed of 10-14 meter per second. (~26-29mph) After re-connection with the RC and when you head back the drone (from 9min 40 sec to...

    NEO Crash Help

Did you calibrate the compass? It’s not in the manual but DJI says it works on neo too https://repair.dji.com/help/content?customId=en-us03400006765&spaceId=34&re=US&lang=en

    Yes it was.

    Go Home (RC Disconnected)

But hand-catching an uncommanded M300 on a boat still have substantial risk. I do not know how to best describe water condition. Let's just say the drone measures level 4 wind in Beaufort Scale (20-30km per hr) during the flight.

    Go Home (RC Disconnected)

Here is the sequence of the incident. 1) There was a brief RC disconnection (T=0) 2) RC reconnected (T=10s). Drone was hovering and in P-GPS mode. 3) Between T=10s and T=22s, Drone remain hoovering regardless of the pilot's stick control 4) T=22s, drone changed mode into Go Home...

    Go Home (RC Disconnected)

Normally, for a drone in that size, the pilot would hover it 1.2-1.6 meter above the deck and another guy would be half kneeing and catch both legs with two hands. The Pilot would do CSC instead of waiting the drone to perceives as a landing. ejecting battery.....well, it is a M300 which can...

    Go Home (RC Disconnected)

I was told that adjusting the boat to meet the descending drone was difficult. This was not a normal landing. The pilot had no control over the drone and the landing point was unknown (the drone seems to be updating the Home Point at irregular interval, the last update was during descend/auto...

    Go Home (RC Disconnected)

yup. the situation is paradoxical... It is like, I telling you "I am lying".... So, on one hand, there is the log of "Go Home (RC Disconnected)" and on the other hand the log is still there (as far as I understand, all log are only live recorded, no retrospective recording). Everything in the...

    Go Home (RC Disconnected)

drone don't like boat~~ i suppose... anyway, my question was if anyone has seen this "Go Home (RC disconnected)" status before? and if so, would it amount to disregard all control input by pilot.

    Go Home (RC Disconnected)

the normal drill would be hovering about 1.5 m above the deck and have an assistant to hand catch the lower frame then the pilot still the motor in the middle of the air. the drone seems to be stable but the boat isn't.
