The drone records a "home" position when it takes off with it's own internal GPS, doesn't matter if your phone has GPS enabled or not

Could probably just take a screenshot. Hit home+power button at the same time and it'll take a screenshot (assuming iOS device) For Android there are true screen recording options that Apple doesn't seem to allow.
