Pretty sure with a mp1 on dji go4 app you must set the waypoints during the flight and save them. Litchi you can set the waypoints prior to the flight.
Could it have just been trying to regain the original GPS coordinates after the wind blew it off course? The altitude change due to a barometric change when the storm front passed through?

About the only time I use them is when I am low over water/waterline taking wildlife pics.
The wind will push them around, also your motors run higher rpms.
I would not fly with them in windy conditions.

When I did my leg covers, I placed it just far enough inside the hinge area to just seal and not impede any of the hinge movement. The hinge has full extension.
I don't think he meant never calibrate your compass. But to check for outside influences that may be causing the calibrate compass warnings prior to calibration. Calibrating your compass in a bad location(outside influences)is bad news.
