I also received my Mavic from Apple within 48 hours by ordering online and picking it up at my local store in Minneapolis. I also wandered in to another local store and found a battery in stock last week.

Try Apple Store online. I ordered mine last Monday (12/5), and had it in my hands in less than 48 hours, even though posted delivery was 7-8 weeks. Good Luck.

I can confirm this info. I ordered my Mavic from the online Apple Store on Monday 12/5. Delivery was quoted as 7-8 weeks (Feb 1), but on Wednesday 12/7, I received an email that my order was ready for pick up at my designated local store in Minneapolis. If only the weather were flyable right...
