I too was told all these things aswell as received an email saying it was strickly prohibited but i was still allowed to bring it onboard. Just wasnt allowed to keep the drone itself in my room. Had to check it in and out of security when boarding and embarking the ship in ports.
I was actually able to walk on board the cruise with my drone on departure but when i took it off and was getting back on in first stop they made me open my pack after it went thru xray and then it was confiscated until the next port. They give you documentation of seizure
I brought my mavic pro on a cruise back in january and i had to check it in with security when getting on the boat, but was allowed to take it off in every port i went to. Also you cannot fly on the docks near the boat or in the port security/shops. It was kind of a hassle to deal with security...
