I am only a recreational flyer. Should I bring my Mavic Pro? Is there any beautiful spots that allow drones to make it really worth it? Or is the law so strict that it is really not worth it?

Local parks in Bay Area also forbids drones, super sad.

Awesome, thanks for confirming! So far, it seems like there are two known places that are for sure legal to fly in Bay Area then. Bayland Sunnyvale Seacliff State Beach: California State Parks I hope there are more spots like this where I can fly and not worry about getting caught.
