I recently flew at the beach on a clear sunny day. At about 300' I was able to fly out just over 2,000'. I looked down at the screen to see how far out the drone was and that was the reading. I looked back up and couldn't see it (find it).
I looked back at the screen and rotated the drone...
Mine hasn't fallen out of the sky or impacted hard yet. I have brought it down through some tree branches and cut some needles off a pine tree branch. My depth perception couldn't tell if I was too close or not. I used the camera view and the screen sensor indicators to get it clear.
With a M2P I have flown above low clouds. I was between 300 and 400' and was about 400' laterally while watching the drone hover as low clouds passed below it.
I live under PDX airspace and was unhappy with not even being able to test fly my M2P in the house initially. I have now flown near some smaller airports that brought up the caution window. Once acknowledging I understood I was able to fly.
Pittock Mansion, the wreck of the Peter Iredale...
I have it downloaded, thanks.
I have updated the firmware and calibrated the sensors. I have not calibrated the compass yet. No flying yet. That will be next weekend if the weather cooperates.
