Drone Flying in Norway - A Pilot Report

I hiked up and camped at the top overnight hoping for a sunrise, but woke up inside a cloud instead. Bummer. I didn't launch the drone until almost everyone was gone so as to not annoy people. The only other small group that WAS there were also flying :-)

Drone Flying in Norway - A Pilot Report

To be honest, I don't recall, but I remember having to zoom in a lot to be able to see all of the different areas.

Thinking of Stopping Doing Commercial Work

I've been doing some pretty basic Part 107 work for the past 5 or so years. It's 99% CRE (Commercial Real Estate) so the money is pretty bottom of the barrel. However, I enjoy doing these easy assignments. It gets me out of the house (I'm retired) and gives me an excuse to fly my Air 3S. Lately...

    Chicago Navy pier area flights

I shot this one a number of years ago. Might give you a couple of ideas. Also, if you're Part 107, consider flying some of the skyscrapers downtown. I was surprised how much of the city is wide open airspace wise.

    Nicely done! Well edited, too.

    LAANC question

If you fly in this area often, consider requesting a Blanket / Wide area authorization from DroneZone. That way you'll have the green light to fly in the entire area up to the grid ceilings. They will grant you that authorization for 2 years.

Air 3s Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) Norway (~2 min)

Rising 604 meters, or 1,982 feet above Lysefjorden, Preikestolen is a steep cliff with an area atop the rock approximately 25 meters (82 feet) square. This is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Norway, hosting 300,000 visitors in 2024. Access is via a 2.4 mile steep trail with an...

    Struggling with color grading

For the longest time, I was using a program called VSDC. It wasn't easy to use, but once I learned it, I was super hesitant to switch. But I finally made the move to DaVinci Resolve, and WOW! What a difference. There are tons of videos on YT on how to use it, so make the switch. As an aside, I...

DaVinci Resolve: How to show STILLS used in timeline

This wasn't what I was looking for, but it's a useful feature nonetheless. Thanks! BTW, on a PC it's Ctrl-double click

Air 3s Waterfall Flying in Norway

This was a couple of fun flights to film. Going way way up to majestically follow these waterfalls down up close.

    Air 3s Trollstigen, Norway Waterfalls

It's another river, but ultimately, it's melting snow from the glaciers upstream.

    Air 3s Trollstigen, Norway Waterfalls

Filmed this ASMR(ish) video at the famous Trollstigen Road in Norway. The road is closed for repairs, but the surrounding area is gorgeous. And by the way, the music is by a band called, Royskopp. I've been listening to this song for years, but only recently learned that they are Norwegian!

DaVinci Resolve: How to show STILLS used in timeline

The usage column is my best workaround, but it really helps to be able to see the thumbnail at the same time. Thanks for the research!
